Help Your Home Fight Climate Change

Milwaukee Energy Efficiency

Shout-out to City of Milwaukee's Environmental Collaboration Office (ECO) for creating a new video promoting the benefits of getting an energy assessment of your home, featuring both green homeowner Steve & Ann O'Connell as well as Green Homeowners United's Kevin Kane!

Make your home more sustainable and energy efficient

Green Homeowners United exists to make it easier for homeowners and homebuyers to improve their property with renewable energy, energy-efficiency retrofits and water saving opportunities; and we help people find fair financing to afford the carbon-cutting upgrades that normally would be out of reach.

We believe that sustainability also applies to staff and hiring practices. Our team members are highly trained skilled workers. Our workers on the ground are members of LiUNA Local 113 and have access to platinum health insurance, pension, and are paid at or above prevailing wage.

If your home has never been assessed or needs an updated assessment after you've done some work the time is now. Most homes built before 2010 are far less likely to be air sealed. What we've learned over the years is that your home is unique and getting a scientific test tailored specifically to your home is how you can best find out your areas of energy waste. All Energy Assessments ($500 - $150 tax credit = $350 final cost) include the blower door test, combustion gas testing, insulation and window evaluation and a personalized report.

Save Energy

We're on a mission: help thousands of people reduce energy waste in their home and cut carbon emissions.

Our team of energy experts, contractors and homeowners are excited to welcome you to what we believe is the most important means of fighting climate change there is, all while making your utility bills smaller and increasing your comfort at home.

Reduce Utility Bills

Green home upgrades are all about increasing the efficiency of your home. By reducing wasted and lost energy, our goal is to help decrease your utility bills.

We use scientific evaluation methods to give your home a Home Energy Score and recommend upgrades to your home to reduce your utility bills and help you go green.

Increase Comfort

Many homes feel drafty or have cold pockets, causing you to have to crank up the heat or AC due to inefficiencies. These areas of lost energy can be upgraded or fixed to make sure your home is effectively circulating air without wasting it out of gaps, cracks, or exposed foundations and attics.
