On Bus Route? Yes, Route 18 

Pay: $17.00+ Per Hour 

Mileage Reimbursement: $0.72 per mile for all work-related travel in your personal vehicle 

Shift/Work Days: First Shift, Monday-Friday 

Duration/Usual Hours Per Week: Full-Time, 30 to 50 Hours Per Week 40 hours per week is expected, with occasional overtime opportunities. Paid Training & advancement opportunities with growing company 


Requirements: 

Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Desired 

Drivers License: Valid Driver’s License, Class D - regular 

Vehicle: Required, mileage reimbursement provided.


Position Overview

Are you looking to kickstart a meaningful career in the growing green energy and energy efficiency sector? We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Initial Visit Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be the boots on the ground, visiting 4-8 homes daily to perform comprehensive energy efficiency inspections of attics, basements, and electrical systems. 

Assistant plays a key role in determining a home's eligibility for federal funding via the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), gathering critical measurements, and educating homeowners on the Green Homeowners United process. This includes sharing expertise on energy efficiency practices such as insulation and air sealing to help map out the best path for rebate funds. 

This is a fantastic entry-level position with many opportunities to grow within the company. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Field Inspections and data collection 

  • Drive to scheduled sites to take accurate measurements and photos of basements, attics, and electrical systems. Inspect and record specific insulation types, including rigid foam, blown-in cellulose, fiberglass batts, and spray foam. 

  • Safety & Feasibility: Identify potential hazards or obstacles and assist the Installation Manager with project feasibility analysis. 

  • Rebate & Process Education: Evaluate physical conditions to identify the best IRA rebate path (HOMES or HEAR) and educate clients on the Green Homeowners United process and energy-saving practices. 

  • Professional Representation: Serve as the professional face of the company, ensuring all structural details and measurements are clearly recorded to prioritize clients effectively.


Qualifications and Expectations: 

  • Eagerness to learn new skills and grow within a mission-driven company. -Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license 

  • Vehicle: Must have a reliable personal vehicle for daily travel to and from job sites. Mileage reimbursement provided. Must have vehicle insurance as required by law. -Strong communication skills, basic math/measurement skills, and a keen eye for detail, ability to work independently and with a team, aptitude for speaking to diverse population of homeowners. 

  • Physical ability to comfortably navigate, crawl, and measure tight or unconditioned spaces, specifically attics and basements. 

  • Authorized to work in the United States and State of Wisconsin. -Strong problem-solving skills, time management, and teamwork abilities. 


Desired Experience (not required, willing to train the right candidate): 

  • Experience using basic tools such as drills, saws, and other small construction equipment 

  • Knowledge of building science concepts 

  • Customer service and/or direct customer engagement 

  • Familiarity with the City of Milwaukee and surrounding areas 

  • Comfort traveling throughout the MKE metro 

  • Background check required
